The Municipality of Matala is located in the south of the province. It is limited to North by the municipality of Chicomba, to the East by the municipalities of Jamba and Cuvelai, to the south by the municipalities of Ombadja and Cahama, and to West through the municipalities of Chiange, Quipungo and Caluquembe.

POPULATION

It has a total population of 262,763 inhabitants.
