The Municipality of Humpata is located in the south of the province. It is limited to North by the municipality of Lubango, to the East by the municipality of Chibia, to South by the municipality of Virei, and to the West by the municipality of Bibala. AND constituted only by the commune of Humpata.

POPULATION
It has a total population of 89,144 inhabitants. Its population is mostly made up of the Nyaneka ethnolinguistic group with a strong Ovamwila predominance. This municipality is served by a very rich hydrographic network underground and surface with constant flow. Their lands are very fertile, with agriculture being their essential activity. THE livestock and continental fishing are also sectors of important developments. It has an industrial park of considerable size, linked to the agricultural sector.
With an altitude of 1937m, the municipality of Humpata has great tourist potential. It was one of the areas where the first settlers settled, exactly taking into account the natural beauty of the region. Humpata is also a land of excellence in fruit growing, with emphasis on production of strawberries and citrus fruits.
