The Municipality of Gambos is located in the south of the province. It is limited to North by the municipalities of Chibia and Quipungo, to the East by municipality of Matala, to the south by the municipalities of Cahama and Curoca, and to the West through the municipality of Virei.

POPULATION
It has a total population of 79,462 inhabitants. Its population It is mainly made up of the Nyaneka ethnolinguistic group, with greater predominance in the center and north of the municipality. The majority of this population is dedicated to activities linked to granite extraction and self-subsistence farming and pastoralism, including associated peasants and small agricultural entrepreneurs and traders.
It is in this municipality that the Farming Region of 'Tunda dos Gambos' responsible for a significant share of the province's livestock production, as well as an interesting tourist attraction, namely the Bicuar National Park and the Safari Parque da Fazenda 3N.
