The Municipality of Chibia, is located to the South of the Province of Huila, confined to the North by the Municipality of Lubango, to the East by the Municipality of Quipungo, to the South by the Municipality of Gambos, to the West by the Municipality of Humpata and also by the Municipality of Virei, Province of Namibe.

POPULATION
It has a total population of 190,670 in habitants. Its population is mainly composed of the ethnolinguistic group Nyaneka, also integrating other small groups of Umbundo, Nganguela, Tchokwes, Vátuas, Kuissis, Koisans and mixed race, of Portuguese origin. In the majority this population dedicates itself to the extraction of ore and agricultural activity existent among her associated peasants, small agricultural entrepreneurs and merchants.
The Irrigated Perimeter of Ganjelas, located in this municipality is an important pole in the agricultural development of the province. Also note the importance of this municipality in the extraction and transformation of Ornamental Rock.
